Lead Engineer Subscription & Payment (m/f/d)

Our subscription & payment team is looking for an experienced lead engineer, who is passionate about driving our endeavor to enable subscription-based business models for our consumer products. Coming from mostly ad-based business models, we’re currently ramping up a cool new flexible and modular system stack. Our agile, cross-functional team has the end-to-end responsibility for planning developing running and optimizing the components and services. Our mission is to deliver online services with the best user experience and high quality for millions of users a month.

What you can expect in this role

  • In close cooperation with the product owner you take on the technical responsibility for a task from conception through implementation to successful use in production
  • You technically lead a small team of full-stack engineers implementing frontend and backend services
  • Also, you drive technical discussions and find solutions within your team by focussing on customer impact and technical quality
  • You operationally manage external vendors on day-by-day basis
  • You love to work side-by-side and hands-on with the engineers

Your essential experience and education

  • You gained several years of practical experience as a (Senior) Developer and have professional experience in the technical guidance of engineering teams
  • You have profound experience with Web Technologies (JavaScript, TypeScript, React) as well as cloud-based backend services, preferably with AWS and serverless patterns (Lambda, SQS, AppSync, API Gateway, ...)
  • Besides that, you are passioned about technology and are willing to learn and grow along new technology and market trends 
  • You are a team player and promote a culture of transparency and communication
  • Fluent verbal and written English skills are required, German language skills are a plus
