As a Senior Cloud Migrations Engineer in our Tech Hub in Portugal, you will play a crucial role in our cloud journey. As part of the Platform Engineering & Operations team, you are actively involved in a significant migration away from our current on-premises Kubernetes infrastructure to our new platform based on AWS.

To support all our product teams in this migration, we’re looking for an experienced and proactive engineer who contributes to leveling up our organization’s AWS and Kubernetes skills and processes.

What you can expect in this role

As one of the first members of our Enabling Team, you will:

• Deal with a diverse range of tech stacks running on Kubernetes, with the goal to support the re-platforming to AWS EKS
• Work closely with various product teams as a temporary embedded member to understand their specific challenges, with the objective of supporting their cloud migration and promoting the adoption of DevOps principles and practices
• Engage in work that focuses on empowering other teams through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing to equip them with the capabilities to tackle future challenges.
• Solve complex problems and remove obstacles together with product teams, enhancing their ability to sustainably deliver products and services on the new platform.

Your essential experience and education

• At least 5 years working experience in this concrete field 
• Must-haves: Kubernetes (Minimum of 3 years), AWS, ideally EKS, Helm, GitLab CI or any other CI/CD system, Terraform
• Nice-to-haves: Experience with the Java ecosystem , IBM WebSphere Application Server in a container, Hashicorp Vault, Golang or Python 
• A strong grasp of IT security practices, and the ability to apply them in a cloud-native context as well as a solid understanding of networking concepts (e.g. DNS, routing, …) 
• Comprehensive knowledge about the principles of a modern software development lifecycle as well as DevOps practices
• You are at your best when working alongside others, sharing knowledge, and combining strengths to achieve common goals, possessing excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex technical information into clear, actionable insights. Additionally, you are comfortable with new and uncertain situations capable of adjusting your approach to meet the unique needs of each team, fostering resilience.
