As a Software Engineer for AI solutions in our Tech Hub in Portugal, you will be at the forefront of innovation at our company. Engage with stakeholders across various business units to integrate artificial intelligence as a pivotal support tool across our entire value chain, spanning from content processing to monetization. In this position, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data-driven applications, overseeing the application development process, and ensuring a seamless integration of the work done by the data scientists in your team into a final product.

What you can expect in this role

• Drive the translation of research and POC based projects into scalable, maintainable, and observable production ready workflows
• Deliver webapp/cloud based microservices from frontend UIs to backend asynchronous ML workflows
• Contribute to the development of products that realize the benefits of ML and AI (specifically LLMs) to enhance the way-of-working throughout the company
• Take a leading role in the adoption of software engineering best practices within your project team and mentor more junior and non-backend developers in the area of software engineering
• Be an integral part of one of our experienced development teams and benefit from personalized support to foster your personal growth

Your essential experience and education

• University degree (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) in information technology, computer science or a related technical field
• Strong experience with data centered webapp development in python (e.g., SQLAlchemy, Pydantic, Streamlit) using frameworks like FastAPI, Django or Flask
• Previous experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and AWS services such as Lambda, EC2, ECS, CloudFormation and StepFunctions
• Quality-driven mindset with an appreciation for the benefits of CI/CD (Gitlab) and the use of tool to facilitate good software engineering practices (e.g., poetry, pre-commits)
• Knowledge of design patterns such as Unit of Work, Repository Pattern, Domain Driven Design, Testing Trophy, Onion Architecture
• Fluent in English (Portuguese and/ or German language proficiency is a plus)
